The local trains that many Danes use are the S-trains. These trains connect the inner city to various suburbs and cities right outside of Copenhagen! The S-train consists of 7 lines, and there are a total of 85 stations where you can hop on ones of these trains and proceed to your final destination! Many of the stations are also connected to other various modes of transportation such as the metro or bus, which makes getting around Copenhagen easy. The S-trains run between the time frame of 5:00 in the morning and 12:30 pm at night, but these times of course differ on the weekends. The trains also come on a consistent schedule running about every 5-10 minutes, but these times also are dependent upon whatever line you must take to get to your final destination. There are many perks to taking these trains, such as having the luxury of taking your bike on the train free of charge, as well as small pets, and baby carriages. Every train has cars that are designed specifically for bikes, strollers, etc and these are clearly labeled with bikes on the doors. These rooms are called flex rooms, and allow people to place their bike on a rack while they travel to numerous attractions and all the wonderful places you are able to explore within the city of Copenhagen.
